Snow Load

The minimum snow load capacity of a house in Lake Almanor is 60 pounds per square foot.  It is a good idea to remove the snow from any structure between heavy snow storms.  Most people let the snow sit until it melts in the spring.  This is very risky.  Any Snow, water or ice left sitting on your building can cause damage.  Ice damns will cause your roof to leak and the sheer weight of snow, rain and ice can collapse a roof or deck.
